The Long and Whining Road, by Simeon Courtie
BBC comic script writer Simeon Courtie, his wife and 3 daughters aged 9-13 go around the world in a VW camper van, busking Beatles songs to raise money for Unesco. They start at Strawberry Field in Liverpool and end at the Strawberry Fields Memorial in New York, travelling via Europe, the Middle East (just pre-civil war in Syria), shipping the van to and driving across India, then Australia, then the US. It’s gentle and fun and insightful and heart warming.
