These titles matched in at least one of them and came back as likely yours: THE XENOCIDE MISSION (TX0006929101) Books taken from those libraries may have been used to train commercial AI models without a license \u2026”<\/p>\n
So they’re offering to represent me in a claim. “No upfront costs, a 35% fee shared with co-counsel, and we are paid only if you are.”<\/p>\n
I did some searching. They’re a real law firm, certainly more real than the umpteen AI-generated book clubs, literary review editors and other fakes with Gmail addresses that bombard my inbox.<\/p>\n
I did some more searching and found this from the Authors Guild, the US equivalent of the Society of Authors: https:\/\/authorsguild.org\/news\/claimshero-and-anthropic-settlement-what-authors-need-to-know\/<\/a><\/p>\n And this from Writer Beware: Both relate specifically to ClaimsHero and the Anthropic settlement; in fairness to ClaimsHero, their approach to me said nothing about Anthropic (for which I already know I’m not eligible).
